MEDICAL WORKSHOP 2025
We are pleased to share with you the enriching learning experience our students had at the Medical Workshop held on Saturday, 15 February. This workshop was designed to support our Secondary students in exploring their strengths and preferences within the medical field, as part of our commitment to providing hands-on career exploration opportunities.
During the workshop, students were exposed to various professions within the medical sector, including medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy. Through interactive sessions and engaging activities, they gained valuable insights into these fields, which will help them discover more about themselves and their interests in the healthcare industry.
We firmly believe that hands-on learning is the best way to understand science and develop practical skills. This workshop not only broadened our students’ knowledge but also inspired many to consider future careers in the medical field.
KINDER THAI: VOWELS

Our kindergarten students are making great strides in their Thai language learning! This week, they focused on reading and combining words with the vowel “ae” (แ-). Through engaging activities, students practiced pronouncing Thai consonants and blending them with this vowel to form meaningful words.
One of the highlights of their lesson was the interactive board work. Students took turns coming up to trace the vowel “ae” along dotted lines, reinforcing their writing skills. They also participated in a fun matching activity, pointing to the correct words that corresponded with picture clues.
These hands-on exercises not only help build confidence in reading and writing but also make learning Thai enjoyable and interactive.
PREP ENGLISH: SYLLABLES OR WORD PARTS

Our prep students had an exciting time learning about syllables, or word parts, in their English class this week. Understanding syllables is an important step in developing strong reading and pronunciation skills, and our young learners enthusiastically took on the challenge.
To make learning hands-on and fun, students participated in a cutting activity. They received words written on paper and were to carefully cut and divide them into their correct syllables. This interactive approach helped them visualize how words are broken down into smaller, manageable parts, reinforcing their understanding of word structure.
The activity not only improved their ability to recognize syllables but also encouraged teamwork and engagement. It was wonderful to see their excitement as they successfully divided words and practiced saying them aloud.
YEAR 2 ART: PAPER CUTTING PORTRAITS
Our Year 2 students have been diving into the world of creativity in their latest art class, exploring the fascinating technique of paper cutting to create unique and expressive portraits. With a variety of colorful paper at their disposal, the young artists carefully cut out different face shapes along with features such as eyes, noses, and mouths.
As they assembled their creations, students experimented with different combinations, discovering how shapes and colors work together to convey emotions and expressions. The process not only honed their fine motor skills but also deepened their understanding of shapes and spatial relationships.
Once their portraits were complete, students proudly adhered them to paper, ready to be displayed. The results were a stunning showcase of imagination and individuality, each piece reflecting the creative vision of its maker.
Their vibrant and innovative portraits are a testament to the power of creativity and the joy of artistic expression!
YEAR 8 BIOLOGY: ENZYMES
On Wednesday the 19th February the Year 8 Biology class completed a laboratory lesson on Enzymes. They used liver to understand the concept of the catalase enzymes function under different conditions. They completed experiments with raw liver whole, boiled liver and raw liver chopped up. Using Hydrogen Peroxide, they were able to compare the volume of oxygen gas produced by the liver.
Also they used a glowing splint to re-ignite, in the presence of oxygen. The students conducted the experiments in a safety conscious manner and experienced a wide range of laboratory apparatus. This experimental exercise reinforces the concepts needed for IGCSE paper 6.
