PRE-PREP SCIENCE: IS IT TIDY?

Our Pre-Prep students had a meaningful and enjoyable experience during their recent tour around the school campus. As part of their activity, they checked if the areas were tidy and took the initiative to pick up anything they found on the ground.
With great enthusiasm, the students carefully placed dried leaves into their respective trash bags, ensuring the campus remained clean and beautiful. They were delighted to see that there was no other trash around, making them feel proud of their efforts in helping to maintain a tidy environment.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the young learners to develop responsibility and teamwork while reinforcing the importance of keeping our school clean. Well done, Pre-Prep students!
YEAR 1 P.E.: TUG OF WAR
Our Year 1 students had an exciting and energetic session in their P.E. class this week as they participated in a fun and friendly game of Tug of War! The lesson started with a proper warm-up led by the teacher, ensuring that students were ready and prepared for physical activity. Once warmed up, the children were divided into teams and competed against each other, showcasing their strength, teamwork, and determination.
Tug of War is a fantastic physical education activity that builds physical strength, encourages teamwork, and teaches resilience and sportsmanship. It also helps children develop coordination and communication skills while having fun.
The Year 1 students thoroughly enjoyed the activity, cheering on their teammates and celebrating their efforts. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and cooperation throughout the game. Activities like these make P.E. an enjoyable and valuable part of their school experience, helping to build physical skills and important life lessons in teamwork and perseverance.
YEAR 4 ENGLISH: HOW-TO DEMONSTRATION
Our Year 4 students have been taking their English skills to the next level through an exciting How-to Demonstration project! This week, they confidently stepped up to showcase their ability to explain step-by-step instructions—all while making a delicious burger from scratch!
The activity encouraged students to practice clear communication, sequencing, and impromptu speaking—key skills for developing confidence in English. As they guided their classmates through the burger-making process, they learned to think on their feet, articulate their thoughts, and engage their audience.
Not only did they improve their public speaking and presentation skills, but they also had a fantastic time bringing their demonstrations to life. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork on display!
YEAR 7 MUSIC: ANGKALUNG- FON SAO MAI (เพลงฟ้อนสาวไหม)
Our Year 7 students had a fantastic time in their Thai music class this week, where they learned to play the traditional song Fon Sao Mai (เพลงฟ้อนสาวไหม). The session began with the teacher demonstrating how to sing the notes, and soon, the students confidently followed along.
Using Thai drums, cymbals, and wooden sticks, the students played the song together, immersing themselves in the rhythm and melody. To conclude the lesson, they performed the same song using the Angkalung, adding a unique and harmonious touch to their learning experience.
It was a wonderful session that deepened their appreciation for Thai music while enhancing their musical skills and teamwork. Great job, Year 7!
Y8 CHEMISTRY LAB: ALKALI METALS
The students carried out a chemistry experiment with alkali metals. Alkali metals belong to group 1 of the periodic table. They have unique properties which is different from other metals.
The students conducted experiment by adding small amounts of sodium into water, and observing the changes. The students then add sodium into bromine (group 7 element) to create the compound sodium bromide. They then observed for any colour changes of the solution to show that a chemical reaction has taken place.
The students also added magnesium (group 2 element) to water and they observed the difference between the reaction rates.
This allows the students to describe and compare the properties of the elements of different group in the periodic table.
