NURTURING KINDNESS: STRATEGIES TO PREVENT BULLYING BEHAVIOUR IN CHILDREN

KINDER P.E.: RELAY GAME
Our Kinder students embraced the spirit of teamwork and competition through a series of fun relay games.
Divided into four teams, the children eagerly took their positions, ready to showcase their speed and agility. With gear like long sticks and cones set up, the court was set for a challenge.
The relay race kicked off with each student racing to poke a small cone with a stick and then skillfully dragging it across the floor to the other side, beside a large cone. The goal? To transfer five small cones, one by one, as swiftly as possible.
The Kinder students dashed back and forth, testing their limits and pushing themselves to new heights. It was a joyous sight to witness their energy and determination in action.
YEAR 1 MUSIC: MAHA CHAI SONG
Our Year 1 students recently explored traditional Thai music in their Thai music class.
The class began with an engaging warm-up, as students honed their musical ears by guessing the notes played on the ranad. With laughter and determination, they quickly recognized the distinct tones.
Next came a lively game where music and movement intertwined. As the teacher played a song, students danced with joy, only to freeze in place when the music paused, showcasing their discipline and focus.
After these icebreakers, the class highlight unfolded as students immersed themselves in playing the song "Maha Chai" using various Thai instruments. Each student contributed to creating a harmonious ensemble.
YEAR 4 ENGLISH: KENSUKE'S KINGDOM
In our Year 4 English class, students are reading the book Kensuke’s Kingdom by British writer Michael Morpurgo, which is about a young boy shipwrecked with a Japanese soldier who still thinks WW2 is happening 25 years after its ending.
What's remarkable is not just the content of the book, but the students' skillful involvement with it. Many showcase fluency in reading, adorning their narration with distinct tones and amending their dynamics to enhance specific phrases.
They then went on to begin their book review to justify their thoughts on this particular text.
YEAR 7 ENGLISH: PERSUASIVE WRITING
In a recent English class for Year 7 students, they continued sharpening their paragraph writing skills. In their previous lesson, they learned about explaining things in writing or expository writing. But this time, they focused on persuasive writing and talked about writing a review.
Their current read, "Strange Star," inspired their paragraph topics. First, they crafted persuasive paragraphs to sway others about something linked to the book. Then, some penned reviews sharing their thoughts on the novel. Meanwhile, others revisited their previous paragraphs, tweaking them based on feedback to make them even better.
It's impressive to see how they're honing their writing abilities, and exploring new ways to express themselves through words. With each class, they're becoming more confident and proficient writers.
