PRE-PREP THAI: PICTURES TO WORDS MATCHING GAME
Last Friday, our Pre-Prep students amazed everyone with their Thai skills at the showcase! They were given words like "spoon," "home," and "egg" to read aloud. Then, they matched these words with pictures.
It was wonderful to see their confidence as they read words like "ช้อน" (pronounced 'chorn' meaning 'spoon') and "บ้าน" (pronounced 'barn' meaning 'home'). The room was filled with smiles and applause as they completed each word-picture match.
This showcase wasn't just about presenting; it celebrated their progress in learning Thai. Let's give a big round of applause to our talented Pre-Prep students! 🌟
PREP MATHS: NUMBERS
Our prep students recently showcased their budding arithmetic skills. Using addition tables, they confidently tackled number pairs, aligning ones and tens in columns to find the correct answers. They demonstrated their mastery of basic addition concepts with precision and enthusiasm.
Our students explored money in another part, adding up amounts shown in pictures and naming the currency correctly. This hands-on activity not only showcased their mathematical skills but also emphasized practical applications of math in everyday life.
PREP MANDARIN: OUR STORY
Our prep students recently showcased their Mandarin skills in a themed presentation titled "Our Story." Each student chose a character from their textbook and introduced them along with details about their families, pets, and hobbies.
The showcase provided a platform for students to share their chosen character's story, highlighting elements of friendship, family life, and personal interests. Through their presentations, students demonstrated their growing proficiency in reading and understanding Mandarin and their enthusiasm for exploring different cultures.
YEAR 1 THAI: LANGUAGE GAMES
Our Year 1 students recently showcased their Thai language skills in an engaging display of learning. They demonstrated their growing proficiency, reading aloud the Thai words they've learned in class and confidently tackling sentences.
A highlight of the showcase was watching them unscramble words to form sentences—an activity that not only showcased their vocabulary but also their understanding of sentence structures. Through these interactive exercises, our Year 1 students are not just learning Thai, but actively engaging with the language.
YEAR 2 MATHS: MULTIPLICATION GAMES
Our Year 2 students showcased their amazing math abilities in our recent students showcase! Working in pairs, they presented fun games they created to learn multiplication.
One pair designed a "Roll the Dice" game where players multiply the numbers rolled. Correct answers earned them the chance to feed a virtual dog by placing the right number of dog food in a straw.
Another pair crafted a "Spin the Wheel" multiplication game, while the third group brought a multiplication twist to the classic game of Monopoly. Through collaborative efforts, they not only demonstrated their skills in multiplication but also showcased their ability to make learning engaging and enjoyable.
YEAR 3 ENGLISH: DRAMA "THE REAL PRINCESS"
At our recent showcase, our Year 3 students displayed their growing English skills through a drama showcase. With many speaking different languages at home, developing conversational English is a key focus. Drama provides a hands-on way to reinforce new vocabulary.
The showcase wasn't just about learning—it was about having fun. By enjoying themselves, students engage more deeply with English dialogue, aiding their fluency and confidence. These students have promising futures ahead, whether using English in Thailand or elsewhere.
YEAR 3 SCIENCE: MAGNETS
The Year 3 students recently presented an engaging science experiment during the showcase focused on magnetism. Demonstrating a deep understanding of magnetic principles, they explained the workings of magnets, including pole identification and magnet creation using simple materials like batteries, wires, and nails.
Their experiments revealed whether magnets could penetrate various materials such as paper, aluminum foil, cloth, and glass, shedding light on magnetic properties. Additionally, students explored the distribution of magnetic energy across different areas of a magnet, offering insights into magnetic field dynamics.
This showcase demonstrated scientific inquiry and highlighted the students' enthusiasm for hands-on learning.
