EASTER FUN AT ST. MARK'S: EGG HUNTING AND CREATIVE PAINTING

Our students had a great time searching for Easter eggs around the school this morning in their assembly. They looked everywhere and found many eggs hidden in different places.
Following the egg hunt, our students showcased their creativity in their art class. They painted the eggs they found. Each student used their favorite colors and designs to make their eggs look special and put them in their bunny basket.
But the fun didn't stop there! Some lucky students discovered special eggs containing written prizes among the hidden eggs. These lucky finds added excitement to the egg hunt, and winners were thrilled to claim their special rewards.
We want to say a big thank you to all the students for joining the fun and to our teachers for organizing everything. We hope everyone had a wonderful time and made happy memories this Easter.
KINDERGARTEN MATHS: PATTERNS
Our kindergarten students had fun learning about patterns in their maths class. They learned about shapes and how they can be arranged in different sequences to create patterns.
One activity that the students enjoyed was going to the board to identify which shape would come next in a pattern. This helped them practice recognizing and continuing patterns in a hands-on way.
Additionally, the students worked in their activity books, where they circled the shapes that would come next in various patterns. This activity allowed them to reinforce their understanding of patterns and shapes in a simple and engaging manner.
Overall, our kindergarten class had a great time learning about patterns and shapes this week.
YEAR 1 SCIENCE: WATER CYCLE
This week, our Year 2 students learned about the water cycle in their science class. It was a fun and educational time for everyone involved!
The students made their 3D diagrams of the water cycle. They used their creativity to show how water moves around our planet, from the sky to the ground.
Next, the students had a hands-on project where they made DIY water filters. They used simple materials like empty bottles, cotton, activated charcoal, sand, and gravel. This activity helped them understand how we can clean and purify water to make it safe to drink.
The students sang the "Water Cycle Song" together to end the class on a high note. They even added some fun actions to go along with the song! This was a great way for them to remember the different stages of the water cycle.
Our Year 2 students had a fantastic day learning about the water cycle through creative projects, practical experiments, and fun songs.
YEAR 4 MANDARIN: FRUITS, VEGETABLES, AND SENTENCE PATTERN
This week, our Year 4 students learned about fruits, and vegetables. They also mastered new sentence patterns. They explored how to use "should" and "should not" to give advice or suggestions. For instance:
Mom said I should eat more fruits and vegetables.
Moreover, students learned to express quantities using "more" and "less". This helped them to compare and talk about different amounts. For example:
I eat more apples than oranges.
They started with a review of their previous lessons and introduced new words related to fruits, vegetables, and sentence patterns. This was followed by interactive sessions where students engaged in conversations, practiced using the new vocabulary, and applied the sentence patterns they've learned.
Towards the end of the class, students got the opportunity to create their own sentences using the words and sentence patterns learned. This helped them to reinforce their understanding and boost their confidence in Mandarin.
The teacher also checked and corrected students' writing, ensuring they are on the right track and making progress.
YEAR 6 THAI: DEBATE "SUMMER IS BETTER THAN RAINY DAYS"
Our Year 6 Thai class recently had a fun debate about a common question: Which is better, summer or rainy days? It was a great way for students to practice their speaking skills and share their opinions.
The class was split into two teams: Team Summer and Team Rainy Days. Each student had a turn to discuss why they liked their chosen season. They had to give reasons and listen to their classmates' points too.
Team Summer talked about enjoying outdoor activities like swimming and the beach. They said that sunny weather can make people feel happy and good. Additionally, they pointed out that sunny days can provide us with Vitamin D.
Team Rainy Days said that rainy days are good for staying inside and doing fun things like reading or playing games. They also mentioned that rain is important for plants and the environment.
All students did a great job speaking in Thai and sharing their ideas. They listened to each other and responded politely. The debate helped them practice talking in front of others and thinking about different opinions.
We had a group discussion after everyone shared their thoughts. Some students liked summer because of the warm weather, while others preferred rainy days for the peaceful atmosphere. It was interesting to hear everyone's different views.
In conclusion, the Year 6 Thai class debate was a good experience for our students. They practiced their Thai language skills and learned how to express their opinions clearly and respectfully. We are proud of their hard work and look forward to more engaging activities.
YEAR 9 ENGLISH: PRACTICE INTERVIEW
The year 9 English class has been practicing the skills required for the IGCSE Second Language examination. Speaking is an integral part of the examination and requires regular practice. The student must be able to talk on a specific topic, be interviewed by the examiner, and have an opinion of different global issues. Bobo and Kayden continue to work on their reading and writing skills. In addition to the short answer questions, they are also required to write two written responses of 120 -160 words. All the students are working well and aim to be well-prepared for their examination in the upcoming school year.
