PRE-PREP SCIENCE: PLANTING MORNING GLORY SEEDS

In our Pre-Prep class, students recently had an exciting gardening activity! In their science class, our students were handed the reins to nurture nature as they planted morning glory seeds in their very own mini garden, right outside their classroom.

With tiny shovels and an abundance of enthusiasm, students got their hands dirty, digging into the soil and carefully placing the seeds in their designated spots. With water bottles in tow, the class collectively took on the responsibility of watering their newly planted seeds.

Our Pre-Prep class cultivated a love for gardening, but they also learned valuable lessons about responsibility and patience as they eagerly awaited the first signs of their morning glory blossoms.

    YEAR 5 SCIENCE: LEVER

Our Year 5 students recently explored levers in their science class, investigating how the effort needed to move a load changes with varying distances from the fulcrum. Before the experiments, students prepared by identifying key variables and setting up equipment.

They tested levers, documenting their findings in a table and drew conclusions based on the result. The comprehensive exploration resulted in a deeper understanding of the relationship between load movement and fulcrum distance. Our students, true to form, didn't just conduct experiments – they drew meaningful conclusions, reinforcing their passion for lifelong learning.

YEAR 8 MATHS: ARC LENGTH AND SECTOR AREA OF CIRCLE

One of the highlights of our recent Year 8 lessons has been the introduction of the new formula to determine the arc length and sector area of a circle. Through engaging discussions, interactive demonstrations, and hands-on activities, students have not only grasped the fundamentals of these formulas but have also demonstrated a deep understanding of their practical applications.

Moreover, our Year 8 students have showcased their ability to integrate and apply their knowledge from previous chapters to solve complex mathematical problems. By drawing connections between different concepts and utilizing a diverse range of formulas, they have demonstrated their capacity to think critically and analytically.

Students have taken the initiative to apply their newfound knowledge by attempting challenging questions and explaining their problem-solving strategies to their classmates. This collaborative approach not only enhances their understanding of mathematical concepts but also cultivates a sense of teamwork and camaraderie within the classroom.
