STUDENTS SHOWCASE 1

Our program, the Student Showcase, aims to provide an opportunity for parents to experience what our students have been learning in school across different levels. It also provides a venue for our students to demonstrate their capabilities and presentation skills. By getting involved with the Showcase presentation, our students learn to develop their soft skills, which are essential abilities for the 21st century.

Showcase 1 will be held on Friday, 10 November from 3.30 to 5.30 pm.

Parents of the performing students in the Showcase are strongly encouraged to attend and be a part of our Showcase, showing support for your child during their performance. At the same time, other parents who wish to attend the Showcase are also welcome. Please note that not every student will be performing in the Showcase, but every student will have their turn in at least one of the Showcases.

We value your cooperation in registering in advance, as this will enable us to carry out the program smoothly on the day of the event. Itinerary for Showcase 1

SPORTS DAY 2023

This year, our annual Family Sports Day will be held at Ramkhamhaeng University Stadium (Click Here for Map) on Friday, 24 November from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Sports Day is a chance for students to have fun, participate in races, and field events, and develop skills in different disciplines.

Parents are invited to join our Sports Day. As this is a half-day event, there will be no lunch service on that day. Students are to wear their P.E. uniforms and participating parents should come in their athletic attire and prepare for friendly competition.

Parents and teachers will actively participate in several events to provide a good example for the importance of sports in promoting both physical and mental health. It is also a great time for getting to know the members of our school community. Parents are welcome to bring refreshments and snacks to share.

Please note that there will be regular school bus service on the day, and parents of students using our bus service will be able to come with their children.

We encourage all parents and family members to join us on this special day and show your support for their physical fitness and athletic achievements. We look forward to seeing you on our Family Sports Day.

PRE-PREP THAI: VOWELS

In our Pre-Prep class, the students are on an exciting journey into the Thai language. This week, they're learning the basics, including consonants, vowels, reading, spelling, and pronouncing words correctly.

Before diving into reading and spelling words, students are first discovering the Thai alphabet. Thai has 44 consonants and 32 vowels. Consonants are grouped into three categories: low, middle, and high. This helps students understand how to pronounce the words. Vowels are like special sounds, and students are learning that they can be either long or short.

Once students understand these basics, they practice reading and spelling words, navigating the intricate interplay of consonants and vowels. By learning all this, students can read and pronounce words correctly. They're also learning how the way they pronounce a word can change what it means, so they practice getting the tones right.

YEAR 3 ENGLISH: THE MYSTERIOUS CAT

Year Three enjoyed a writing and grammar lesson. Their task was to read an introductory piece pertaining to a mystery story (The Mysterious Cat) and then augment this with their own interesting second paragraph. Subsequently, using their knowledge of grammar they located a variety of nouns and verbs and used them in spoken sentences.

These linguistic creations became a tool of expression for the students as they used their imagination to write the second paragraph. The positive atmosphere and lively discussions showed that learning English can be a journey of creativity and linguistic discovery. As you can see, learning English is always fun.

YEAR 5 MUSIC: THE ROCKING TUNE SONG

In their recent piano class in Year 5, students learned to play a fun and energetic song called "Rocking Tune." They started by practicing it on their own. With the help of their wonderful music teacher, they learned all about the song's different parts like notes and speed.

Once they got the hang of the song on their own, the students paired up to play it together. This was a great way for them to make music as a team. They learned how to work together and listen to each other to make beautiful music.

YEAR 9 MATHS: TRANSFORMATIONAL GEOMETRY

Our Year 9 students have been learning about a special kind of math called "transformational geometry," which is about relocating geometric shapes. Relocating shapes properly involves a meticulous procedure in geometry. It's about shifting shapes from one spot to another but making sure they stay the same size, shape, and orientation. Our Year 9 students have been using a special grid with boxes to learn about transformation.

In a recent class, students were given the job of relocating a triangle on this grid. They had to figure out how the numerical coordinates for the corners of the triangle changed when they moved it. This helped our students understand how shapes can be relocated on a grid.

As they got better at relocating shapes, students began to see patterns. They learned that when we move a shape to the right, the left-to-right numerical values get bigger. And when we move a shape up, the up-and-down numerical values increase.
