ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE ON PLAYGROUND SAFETY
Safety is at the forefront of our consideration.
Following the planting of tree hedges along the path adjacent to the playground, we also installed prominent protection strips on the edges of the steps to remind students to be careful when walking in the area. This protective strip is marked in bright yellow and black, allowing students to notice it from far and can help prevent students from getting hurt if they accidentally fall.
PRE-PREP PHYSICAL EDUCATION: DEVELOPING TEAM AWARENESS
In the physical education class, the teacher first led the students to warm up to ensure that they wouldn't be injured during the exercise. Afterwards, the students started a tug-of-war competition in groups. Tug-of-war can strengthen the muscles of the students and give them good physical capacity. In addition, tug-of-war develops students' teamwork skills, allowing them to learn how to communicate within a team so that they work together to achieve goals.
YEAR 1 SOCIAL STUDIES: HOUSE AND LIFE
During the social studies, teachers and students interacted to explore the styles of various types of houses.
Different styles often represent different ideas. Through this kind of learning, students can start from the familiar things around them to understand the differences in the society they live in.
Our curriculum is designed to help students develop a perspective on the world based on classroom interactions. It is clear that students are one step closer to gain a better understanding of society.
YEAR 6 ENGLISH: READING ALOUD
Reading aloud is an essential part of our English curriculum, which helps create a good language learning environment for our students. Reading aloud helps students learn how to use language to make sense of the world; it improves their information processing skills, vocabulary, and comprehension. Research has shown that teachers who read aloud motivate students to read and this is essential for the English language learning.
YEAR 8 MATHS: LEARNING ABOUT SEQUENCE
In this week's Maths class, students were taught how to find patterns in a sequence. This is an important ability that gives students a multi-dimensional perception of numbers. Our teacher gave various examples and summarised them, so that students can practise more. This pedagogical framework gives students a solid grasp of mathematical skills.
