    PARENTS' COFFEE MORNING

We recently held our very first Parents’ Coffee Morning, a warm and engaging gathering that brought our school community together. Parents had the chance to meet one another, share ideas, and have meaningful discussions about how they can further support both the school and their children’s learning journey.

During the session, parents raised thoughtful concerns and suggestions while also exploring ways to be more actively involved in school events and activities. The conversation also touched on the idea of establishing a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), giving parents a stronger voice in school life.

Another key highlight of the morning was a discussion on university preparation for our secondary students, with a focus on building strong portfolios to support future applications. This sparked great interest and showed the importance of early planning and collaboration between school and home.

Overall, it was a successful and positive start to what we hope will become a regular opportunity for parents and the school to connect, collaborate, and build a stronger community together.

Y3 MATHEMATICS: SUM MODEL & DIFFERENCE MODEL

This week in Year 3 Mathematics, our students were introduced to two exciting new concepts: the Sum Model and the Difference Model. Their teacher began by explaining what each model represents and demonstrated how to use model graphs to find the total or the difference between two numbers.

To make learning interactive, students were invited to volunteer and solve problems on the board. This gave them the opportunity to practice identifying sums and differences while applying the model graph step by step.

As a hands-on activity, the class also created their own paper graphs to visualize the models. This not only strengthened their understanding but also made the lesson more creative and fun.

It was wonderful to see our Year 3 students engaged, confident, and eager to share their mathematical thinking!

    Y6 PHYSICAL EDUCATION: BADMINTON

This week in PE, our Year 6 students were introduced to the exciting game of badminton!

The lesson began with a warm-up to get everyone moving and ready. Afterwards, the teacher introduced what badminton is all about, explaining the basics of the game and the importance of grip, coordination, and control.

Each student then practiced individually with their own racket and shuttlecock, working on bouncing the shuttle consistently on their racket to build control and accuracy. Once they grew more confident, students paired up to practice short rallies, putting their new skills into action.

It was a fun and engaging session where students not only learned the foundations of badminton but also demonstrated teamwork, focus, and perseverance. We look forward to seeing their skills develop further in the coming weeks!

    Y7 THAI: คำนาม (NOUN)

Our Year 7 students have been learning in detail about Thai sentence structures and grammar. This week, they focused on nouns. Nouns are words that name people, animals, things, and places. They also discovered that nouns can be grouped into general nouns, specific nouns, classifiers, collective nouns, and abstract nouns.

To review their learning, the students took part in a lively quiz activity and worked on practice worksheets. Everyone enjoyed the activities and showed great effort in applying their understanding of nouns in Thai.

YEAR 10 PHYSICS LAB: EXPLORING MAGNETISM

Our Year 10 students recently brought the topic of magnetism to life in the lab. Using bar magnets, paper, and two grades of iron filings — one coarse, one fine — they revealed the elegant patterns of magnetic field lines produced by the magnet. The difference in particle size allowed students to see variations in how the filings aligned with the field. Next, the students used a compass to determine the direction of the magnetic field, gaining insight into how a magnet’s field interacts with the Earth’s own magnetic field.

The class then tested which everyday objects respond to a magnet, before learning how to magnetise a nail by stroking it with a bar magnet. The newly magnetised nails were put to the test with paperclips — with satisfying results.

A lively mix of observation, experimentation, and discovery, the session turned abstract theory into something students could see, test, and understand.
