CELEBRATING OUTSTANDING IGCSE ACHIEVEMENTS – JUNE 2025 SERIES

We are thrilled to share the fantastic results of our June 2025 IGCSE examinations! This year, an impressive 54% of all examination entries achieved A* or A grades, a testament to our students’ hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support of our teachers and families.
A special milestone in St. Mark’s history has also been achieved: for the first time, one of our students scored an incredible 99% in the Foreign Language Mandarin exam! This remarkable accomplishment highlights both individual excellence and the strength of our language programs.
Our IGCSE students have demonstrated excellence across a wide range of subjects, showcasing both academic skill and resilience. These results reflect not only individual talent but also the strength of our learning community and the quality of teaching at St. Marks.
We congratulate every student on their achievement and encourage them to continue striving for excellence as they move forward in their academic journey.
Well done to our students, teachers, and families for making this success possible!
TEACHERS' SEMINAR: PREPARING FOR THE NEW ACADEMIC YEAR
A week before the start of our new academic year, our dedicated teachers came together for a full-day seminar focused on professional growth and collaboration.
The seminar centered around two key themes: Growth Mindset in the Classroom and Classroom Management with a Heart. Through engaging discussions and activities, teachers explored strategies to inspire students to embrace challenges, build resilience, and develop a positive attitude toward learning. They also shared approaches on fostering supportive, well-managed classrooms that balance structure with care and compassion.
This seminar was not only an opportunity for professional development but also a valuable time for our teaching team to connect, exchange ideas, and prepare collectively for the exciting year ahead. With renewed energy and fresh insights, our teachers are ready to guide and support students toward success in the new school year.
YEAR 1 ART: BUBBLEGUM PORTRAIT
In Art this week, our Year 1 students explored creativity through a fun project called Bubblegum Portrait Art. Each student drew or painted a large portrait, either of themselves or a playful character, focusing on facial features and expressions.
To make their artwork truly unique, they attached a real balloon right over the mouth area, creating the look of a big bubblegum bubble. This clever mix of drawing and 3D art not only made their portraits pop but also added a playful, eye-catching twist to every piece.
The activity encouraged students to practice observation and detail in portrait drawing, while also experimenting with a fun and imaginative way to bring their art to life. The results were colorful, creative, and full of personality!
YEAR 4 P.E.: GIANT VOLLEYBALL
In their recent PE lesson, our Year 4 students had a fantastic time combining fun and fitness. The session started with a review of the gym rules and a lively warm-up to prepare for the activities ahead.
Students first played an exciting tagging game where one team lined up as defenders, and the other team had to run past them without being tagged. This game encouraged agility, quick thinking, and teamwork, while filling the gym with cheers and laughter.
The highlight of the lesson was a thrilling round of giant volleyball. Working together to keep the oversized ball in the air, students developed their coordination, cooperation, and communication skills, all while having lots of fun!
It was a great session that promoted both physical fitness and team spirit. Well done, Year 4!
YEAR 8 ENGLISH: SHARING ABOUT FAMILY AND HOBBIES
In their recent English lessons, our Year 8 students worked on a special project where they created photo boards to introduce their families and share their favorite activities.
Each student presented their board to the class, talking about their parents, siblings, and even what their family members do for work. They also shared their own hobbies and interests, from sports and music to reading and travel.
This activity not only encouraged students to express themselves creatively but also gave them valuable practice in speaking English with confidence. By describing familiar people and activities, students built stronger vocabulary and improved their fluency in a fun and engaging way.
We are proud of our Year 8 students for their effort, teamwork, and growing communication skills!
